Question: Lanyard Ring size for Webley Mk 3 .455

Hello,

Didn't really know where to put this, but thought I would tap the knowledge of this forum. I'm purchasing a Webley Mk 3 in .455 and it's missing the lanyard ring. The stud is in place. Does anyone know if the ring is identical to any other makes or models? Anyone able to provide measurements, if I must fabricate?

And lastly, I assume that at s/n 17XX it's past the cut-off for antique status? Is there any definitive literature available to show actual manufacturing dates for the Mk 3? (I suppose not, but worth asking)

Same ring as other like revolvers. I'd use 1/8" mild steel wire to make one(form it around a mandrel made out of 1/4" bar stock), then cold blue it. Gunparts, when they have 'em, wants $6.20US each.
Manufacturing dates by serial number records have long since been destroyed.
You may find it is considered to be an antique though. .455 Mk III's date from before 1898. Adopted in 1897. Most Mk III's are chambered in .38 S&W though. How long is the barrel?
 
Apply to CFC for antique status. They do the determination by their rules.
The MkIII .38 and .455 were made on different size frames.
