I may have one, Just waiting to see it in person, guy says its a minty Long Branch Chromed Parade rifle, do they exist?

Long ago and far away there were chromed No4s and BRENs used as shooting team trophies. Chrome wasn't in it for parades, at least I never saw any. When I started out in the early '60s the Army was led by officers and NCOs of WW2 vintage who knew how to put on a parade. Weapons were spiffed up for ceremonial parades by having stocks re-oiled and slings cleaned. There was the odd aberration, like spit-shone bayonet scabbards and even magazines for the FN, but I think that was a Canadian Guards thing.

Chromed rifles were usually done by the Legion for colour guards.
There were chromed No4 and C1 bayonets done for colour guards.
There were also nickel plated No1 bayonets. The orderly sergeant Ist RCR carried one to c1970.

A chrome No4 that shoots exactly where it is pointed. Sounds like it is worth the same price as an arsenal refurbished No.4 that holds its zero.

Never mind the effort that has been expended to convert this thing from whatever to whatever, without a provenance or a plausible story, it is only another No.4.

BTW, the only chrome anythings on current rifles are scabbards as bayonet covers.
