Hello

I am curious as to why the:
Smith&Wesson MP15-22 is Restricted
ISSC MK22 is Restricted (Not Sure)
GSG15 Is Not

I think I know but wanted to ask here and can anything be done to alter that Classification Permanently / legally?

Thanks for your time.
George

^with a Conservative majority in Ottawa some day? The request to consider that would (likely) be politely considered, and politely declined. Just being honest. There is no appetite for Canadian politicians of any leaning to put more guns in the hands of law abiding citizens. At least from my perspective.

With Prime Minister weeping willow in office, you could start a petition, get over 11,000 signatures, only to be told by a Liberal politician that only people with criminal intent would ask such a question. Google petition E 575, and the Liberal government's reply. Those Liberal blow hards claim to be open to polite discourse on tough topics when in fact, nothing could be further from the truth.

My understanding of the S&W MP15-22 being restricted is two fold
1. it is a AR look a like ( notice how I did not say variant)
2. the hi cap mags that were available for it at one point also fit in a pistol (kind of like the Ruger 10/22 and Charger problem)

Thanks for the correction. Didn't know that.

You should by now. Geez. :p

I know there is a lot of little clauses to our regs, they like to say its one way, but then throw a "unless" yada yada every once in a while.

For the record: only semi-auto centerfire firearms require a 18.5" barrel or greater to be eligible for NR status, and are also the only group to have their mags restricted to 5rds.
