I am wanting to make a 600 yard target. I have a Redfield Revenge scope with the accu-ranger in it. I have it sighted in for 200yards. The manual says to set up a target 600 yards away to check the "hold-over points" to make sure they are close (tuning in accu-ranger ballistics system). I have it mounted on a Savage axis 22-250 and I reload with 55gr Hornady V-max bullets. I`m wondering with this target: At 600yards..how wide and how tall should a guy make it since I`m spot on at 200 yards. How much expected drop is there with this gun and bullet? With that answered, I`ll just make a radius that big plus some.
4x8 sheet of plywood work? Or could a guy go a bit smaller?

I recycle large pizza boxes at 500 yd. Opened to show inside of box, with a six inch black square at 12 o'clock, the target is very visible, and most of the shots land near the bottom of the box. :)

Try a pizza box, with an extra five minutes of elevation dialled into the scope for 600 yd, and let us know if it is enough.

What velocity are your loads?
If you download one of the free balistic calculators available you can figure out the drop at any range with your muzzle velocity, bullet BC and zero range.
If you have an iPhone download isnipe and if you are on Android download Strelok
They aren't perfect but it will get you very close at least.
Good luck
