Can anyone identify this ‘div’ patch . I know the officer was RCR and 1st Div but trying to understand the red stripe over ‘light blue’ (?) patch over or light blue stripe ??
thanks
The double post was unintentional .... I simply ‘reloaded’ the page on my device ... not realizing the window that was open would reload the initial thread again. My apologies. And thanks
Thanks folks ... certainly seems to partially solve my confusion in trying to date the tunic. This guy (my father as it happens) was in Sicily/Italy then detached from his regiment to take a US LST (as OC) to Marseilles during Goldflake etc and after regimental service in Holland he was transferred to CAOF .... which appears to be where these shoulder patches originated ... but is there any reason why the ribbons on the CAOF duty era tunic wouldnt have an oakleaf he earned in Italy .... all the other sets of ribbons have it mounted and it was gazetted before he left Italy....
