I recently purchased this early (1890) Parker Dbl. 10 ga. I would say it has a #2 frame size. Has an E marking for grade; all the reference I've seen has an H after the first letter. Is the H assumed or are some grades just single letter. Thanks!.

Grade "2" is commonly a "G". "H" is "Hammerless".

BUT, 10 gauge "GH" guns are called "EH" grades.

Confused yet?

If you give me the entire serial by PM I can determine original configuration for you.

It's a parker bros, EH 10 gauge hammerless..It's basically a GH (if it were a smaller gauge)..(GH engraving anyway)..so it's a grade 2 gun..but once the 10's got into the higher grades...instead of N or NH...which has the VH or PH style engraving...the lettering went to E or EH...If you go to gunbroker website and search in the double guns-side by side section.. type in parker EH...several guns come up for auction..same as yours...
