I've seen the thread on AR15.com about it and the way he does it , it covers the mag cap , but going through the "Showoff your SHORTY 12G SHOTTY (14" or under and Mods)! " thread , I see that some of you have it so it does not cover the mag cap , So , any tips , suggestions on what needs to be done or help will be greatly appreciated .

Main reason is I've a sling plate I'd like to use under the mag cap .

I thought that was mine at first lol. Due to the internal shape of the forend, its easier to shorten the front end. I used a die grinder and swear words. The rear had some shaping that would be difficult to replicate after shortening while the front only needs a flat shoulder moved back some.

Getting a stud on the end of the cap to work is different from getting the room needed for a ling PLATE under the cap.

You might be able to heavily modify the forestock, or more likely, you will end up with scrap plastic. Good luck in your efforts.
