Still gathering my re-loading equipment/supplies and although i get the basic ie pick your bullet (brand X), find its matching chrg for min and work up to max (if you need too).

Now each manufacturer has loads for various powders for a bullet model.

For example: Nosler shows that for a RDF 140 gr HPBT 6.5 Creedmoor I can start at 37 gr with H4350. Now If I happen to have Sierra Bullet in HPBT also 140 gr could I use the same start point for charge.

I can understand that internal pressure will change significantly if I use a lighter or heavier bullet but is he bullet weight is the same and shape is similar should the data be the same.

Reason I am asking is that with today's lack of supplies it appears that I can find bullets of one brand but that brand did not test the other brand of powder. or vice versa.

Planning to stick to tested recipes from the books but my research to find various data intrigues me. This was also spurred on by the NOSLER site which list multiple bullet type (of the same weight) that can use a the same data.

Thanks
