I've just purchased a Savage BVSS in 300 WSM. I have a Marstar scope to put on but the tube ( Distance between front and back bells) seems a bit short for the loactaion of the bases as to allow for adjustment. Can someone reccomend a descent base and ring combo that will work. If possible I'd like to keep the cost under $100.

Thanks for the help

Leupold will have a combination that will work for considerably less than $100. Consult their website or a Leupold dealer....

I believe you will have to use a set of extension rings with the appropriate bases. If your piece is an accutrigger model then use a pair of weaver #47's with the ring bolt grooves mounted toward the action opening. Use a pair of weaver front extension rings, medium height for objective bells to 40mm,highs for bells 45mm and larger. Cost - about $50. Leopold offer the same set up either one piece or two piece bases for just over $100.00. Assuming scope has a 1" tube.
