I am debating on getting a SS-211. I have owned 4 turkish shotguns and they were all junk except for the SXP.

Is the SS 211 the typical turkish junk or is it worth owning? I would be getting the mid size model

If you’re interested in the mid size version, there are several different manufacturers/importers that offer models with very similar features and dimensions. That said, they’re all Turkish too.

In my mind, what makes the SS-211 attractive is the original model’s dimensions.

I have no complaints about it or any other Turkish-manufactured shotguns. I think they’re a lot of fun for the money. If you want something that’s capable of running 10,000 rounds of trap per year or a dedicated hunting gun you might want to look elsewhere, but for a truck gun or for recreational plinking they’re hard to beat.

Truck gun is the main use. I was unaware of similar sized guns out there. I figured it was the only one. Do you know a name off hand to aid in my search?

I have the the mid size, shot ½ dozen target load.
I'm too old for the recoil.
I put it up for sale last week

Churchill 512, Churchill 520.
There are side x side not over under, but short.
They also have fixed chokes, where the SULUN SS-211 has screwed in chokes that are easily sourced
They use Mobil thread pattern like Benelli and Beretta

I owned the first 3 editions (1st import, 1st import refurb and 2nd import w/chokes. Quality improved each time i saw and shot.

Havent seen latest but i imagine its getting better.

You have to keep in mind it's cheaper to make shotguns there than China a lot of the time, so quality and fit and finish can be weird model to model but I think Sulun is one of the bigger lines so they may have better QA?

I picked up a Ricol 14" w/chokes like 5 years back. Fit, finish and etc were superior to these for sure. I also saw one with a wolf logo, It wasnt Warrior but the other brand using that logo, 12 or 14" w/chokes.

They are what they are. I think they're worth the price quality compared to expense. My buddy loves his and flicks it shut constantly and it hasn't worn the hinge or lock out. It's shot often and with heavy loads. His gun has seem several times it's price in ammo. Buck slug steel and turkey loads.
It makes a great walking gun in a scabbard. When I carried it I shot a few grouse that I followed till flushed in front of me. It's great for shooting branches that hit you in the face. Very satisfying in that regard. I'd opt for one with chokes
