Question on Thermold magazines

Gentlemen, I am collaborating with some other M14 fans on a Pictorial M14 Magazine Identification Guide. It's 35.3 MB with over 200 photographs covering the US commerical, foreign, USGI and fake "GI" magazines. We have some photos of the Thermold M14 magazines. The Guide will probably expand some more but it looks pretty good so far. Question, are the markings on the Thermold M14 magazines similar to the markings on Thermold M16 magazines used by the Canadian military?

Had a quick look at the pics, and while similar to the CDN issued mags, well, they're different.

The Canadian mags have a maple leaf moulded into the side, and the makers stamp is different too. (Don't have a thermold in front of me just now, sorry!)

The Date stamp is the same.

Follower is VERY different.

CF Thermold magazines, a short and discredited history

In summer of 1990 there was a small 'real estate dispute' at two Indian reserves near Montreal. The provincial police found themselves in fixed positions facing radical and well armed natives. The cops naturally wanted bigger guns, so they borrowed a number of C7 rifles from the military. After a few days the Army wanted to confirm that all was well with the rifles and none were missing. Here is where I came in.

A QM-type guys showed me a milk crate of mags with busted feed lips. The cops had dropped the mags on hard surfaces, shattering one or more lips. I shrugged and said yes it happens, not to worry it is a known fault. He was relieved. I had always doubted their strength, but a dozen busted mags after a few days was a bad sign.

When the troops went to the Gulf we had plastic mags, except for those of us who had metal magazines. I traded some 20-rounders to a French Foreign Legionnaire for one of their shirts. Then the Airborne went to Somalia. The troops were trading everything and anything for USGI mags, or they brought their own. The HQ got the message and by the early 90's the Thermold magazines were all replaced with metal ones marked for export only.
