Question on using 7.62X53R Lapua brass in my Mosin Nagant

Hi all, I had read somewhere that Lapua 7.62X53R brass was actually the same as what we refer to as 7.62X54R and would work in the Mosin Nagant.

I bought a box recently and made up some hand loads for my 1942 Tula but thought I'd ask here if in fact this was OK before going to the range.

Can anyone confirm if Lapua 7.62X53R brass will work in the Mosin Nagant?

7.62x53r is a Finish name for 7.62x54r. It is good brass. Enjoy.

Yep, only difference is the Finns used a .308 bore, but the brass is the same.

So can 7.63x54 be used in the finn rifles or would it burn out the bore quicker?

If the Finn rifles have a .308 bore, I think 7.62X54R ammo would cause excessive pressure in them..
