question re: 20" DA556 nato M16 style

Mine had a fixed carry handle, I replaced the upper with a flat top, I am pretty sure you could swap out the lower if you wanted to.

Correct. Can't confirm if they made any 20'' with a detachable carry handle or not though because I have not handled one, I know the regular DA556 had a detachable carry handle with a flat top rail.

Not a problem - after looking at the photos too it looks like it is a fixed carry handle.

i would call CanadaAmmo though if that is a dealbreaker before you order.

I have DA556 and I find that mispec lower is compatible with norc upper so I would worry too much. Its stuff like handguards that you will have issues with. From what most say. I have free float on mine.

I have my 20" Norinco on my Armalite M14A4 lower with IWI A2 style handguards, 0 problems with fit or function.

Norinco does make a 20" AR with a detachable carrying handle. I've seen it at the LGS.

Not sure if Can Am ever carried it though.
