Question re: handguards on the new Type 81M rifles

Can anyone here clarify whether the lower and upper handguards on these new Type 81 "M" rifles are at all dimensionally different from the handguards on the standard "SA" rifles? I am wondering if the aftermarket handguard sets (eg: Sigmaco handguards) made for the previous SA rifles (not the side folder, LMG or SR models) will fit on the new "M" rifles.
 
I hope I'm not out line here but having purchased accessories from both TI & Sigmaco as an owner of an LMG, and bearing in mind the QC aspect if it don't say LMG I don't buy it.
 
you guys are all right and wrong at the same time, lol.

IIRC, you need to specify which batch. the first batch of sigmaco HG was made strictly for the light barrel, later version worked on light and heavy barrels.

damn I hope you're wrong and my first gen works on the 81m Lol or Im going to have to find a handguard to modify

yes... but technically speaking. the gen 1 and 2 are also quad rails bcos you can attach them to the m-lok.
