Pulled the factory pad off and the rubber piece fell away leaving a recessed black plastic base piece perfectly fitted/melded to the wood stock. It appears as though it might have been ground in place with the wood and finished because the fit is so good. It seems like I should try and tap this off before screwing on the Limbsaver (the Limbsaver has it's own similar black plastic base) but I don't know if it might have been glued there by the factory. I'm shy of trying to tap it free - SUGGESTIONS please from those who have done this ???
