dunno if this helps you out.... but...
the last NM built/tuned norinco/usgi hybrid i sold went for 1850 in a usgi fiberglass , norinco-ized stock.
it consisted of the complete parts set from an isreali stamped H&R m14.
only chinese parts were the receiver itself.

another build i sold went for 2200.00, built to NM specs with smith enterprise trigger and gas assembly and trw bolt and HR NM stamped barrel. This rifle shoots .45 of an inch at 100 with a cold barrel.

Given the absurd cost of USGI M14 parts (in the US, let alone in Canada where they are almost impossible to get), I'd say it's worth at least $1500 and probably more depending on the condition. If there are any TRW parts, i.e. op rod, barrel and bolt mainly, the price goes up even more. Too bad about the Norinco stock and FS though :p

I just have to ask the question.....why are TRW parts worth more than springfield parts? When springfield armory was the one who designed the gun and made most of their own parts in house. The only reason TRW got a contract was...they were the lowest bidder and they had just as many problems getting started as winchester.

trw parts are machined and finished to tighter tolerances than the the other 3- also the one piece op-rod design was incorperated, in short, it's just a plain better made rifle-trw made machine parts for aircraft, and that same expertise carried over into the rifle or so i've been told- i wasn't there , didn't do

I had a TRW M14, also had a Winchester. The TRW had the most cachet of the 4 available choices. The Winchester I bought was an Israeli mixmaster, every single part was from a different manufacturer. I traded it in an a 100% TRW rifle that looked like new and it was well worth the difference I paid.

Thinking about it now though...nothing much wrong with Winchester. It was just the mixmaster thing that bugged me.

That value mentioned...so a Polytech receiver is fine with people? Are they equivalent quality with Norinco?

Poly Tech receivers are my favorites, especially the ones with clean heel stamps.
And there's nothing wrong with my pair of heel stamped Norinco receivers

weren't the polytechs the ones that the americans were complaining about being crappy way back in the day?

i've been focusing on SKS's and Mini-14s for the past four months thus i've forgotten those little m14 facts I once knew.

Fulton Armory claimed they were worthless crap unless you spent big bucks
having them replace everything but the receiver... most of us know better now.

you will NOT find a heel stamped polytech in canada for 400.00  ... let alone any norinco, heel stamped or otherwise..... unless you get ####house lucky.
All the pristine examples that have been offered to me have been closer to 700 or 800.
the only springfield rifle i would own...... would be a genuine Divine stamped M1A...... so that means...... no spoingfields for me :D
