hoping for some guidance. Recently I stared reloading among other things .40 cal, and I have figured it out, successfully loaded a few hundred rounds.
SO onto my question. I was given 1000 180 gr fully jacketed proejctiles. Upon inspection I realize they are the exact same dia. as the .40 cal hard cast lead bullets I use of the same weight, but the 10mm bullets are what looks to be a couple mm longer, (slightly different shape)
Is it safe to sub 10mm projectiles for .40 cal projectiles without altering the powder charge? it occurred to me that the added length would go into the case and in my brain that tells me there is a high probability of pressure intensification on detonation that would be greater than what is listed in the "normal" .40 cal ballistics data.
Anyone have any experience on this?
