Hello there, so I purchased an Aimpoint Pro, I found out one thing really interesting, it couldn't be turned off!!!

Ok aimpoint's website states that it has 4 NV dots and 6 red dots, so total should be 10 clicks on the power knob right? Mine has only 9 clicks from starting position(the white dot painted on the power knob lines up with the white dot on the Battery tube) , so does it mean that at the starting position it is on the lowest NV dot? If so it's still on even tho I couldn't see it with bare eyes, which sums up 10 power settings that makes sense to me. I don't have a Nightvision device so I couldn't tell.

For those of you who own Aimpoint PRO, is yours also have only 9 clicks from starting position?

another question, how many times do you click until the dot starts to show up? On mine, the 3rd click I start to see the dot, it's a tiny little red dot that I could only see it in a totally dark environment. On the 3rd click it's on NV dots and I'm not suppose to see it with my naked eyes right?

It's the first aimpoint I have so I want to know it better.

Thanks

Do you have a camcorder with a night-vision mode? If so, you can use that to see if you optic is on. Even if it is still on, it'll last 4+years at that setting. Mine works like yours, only 9 clicks and faint visible dot at 3rd click.

Unfortunately I don't have a camcorder, every penny I earned I spent on guns :)
Yep there's 9 clicks and a faint visible dot at 3rd click, first of all I thought that if it was on NV mode I was not suppose to see that faint visible dot, then I switched off lights, shut all curtains to make my room completely dark, I took out my EOtech 552(also NV compatible), switched to NV mode, let my eyes focus a bit and hey I saw that EOtech reticle, now I think a myth is busted that human's naked eyes could see NV dot/reticle in a very dark environment...

Hmmm.thats different from the pro that I once owned....my definitely had an off setting

I'm curious how the off setting looks like? Did you use a NV device to check and confirm that it's off? Because clicking it all the way down it looked like it's off, but without actually using a NV to check it I never know.

Man Aimpoint is really sophisticated-engineered for easy-use.

I think I read about this somewhere (I had the same question with one I purchased a few months ago). Apparently, they count the "off" setting as #1 - so in essence, there would in fact be x10 settings. What I can't appreciate (due to the fact that I don't have any NV equipment), is that I have to get to about the 6th or 7th click before the dot seems useable during the day. Slightly different from the Sparc II that I have. Aside from that, it's a pretty decent RDS for the price...

I bought mine last year, and it has the same same number of clicks with the dot appearing on the 3rd. With north of 50,000 hours of claimed battery life it never needs to be turned off :)
