I am just wondering what steps I would need to take if I ordered a CX4 Storm from Wholesale Sports and then wanted to send it to Epps to get the 18.5" inch barrel added to it to make it non restricted. I know Epps takes care of the paperwork once it gets there but what do I have to do to send it there. I am kinda a newb when it comes to transporting restricteds other than getting an ATT for taking them to the range.

Epps might also have one in stock and the likely the cost of shipping might even out prices. Epps might order one in for you prepaid, if they don't have the barrel blanks It may take awhile anyways. give Epps a call first.

I would make sure Wholesale or Ellwoodepps has them in stock. Rumour has it Ellwoodepps might have some coming in.

Thanks for all your suggestions guys. I will call Epps and see how long it will be till they get them in.

Out of curiousity did you find out any info on this? Just wondering if Epps had any premade ones or barrels blanks in. Any idea on the cost of one with a non rest. barrell? Went to call them today but they are closed Mondays :(

I tried ordering one through WSS mailorder, but after hearing for over two weeks about how they were bringing one in from one of their various retail stores I gave up and ordered one through Astor Arms. Good thing too, as it turns out Wholesale was totally sold out, and now Astor Arms apparently is also.

As far as the barrel goes, I ordered one through Bits of Pieces (it was an in-stock item), and after making a barrel wrench simply installed it myself. I had to chamfer the sides of the feed ramp as it would occasionally fail to feed, but with a wee bit of grinding and polishing it works 100% now. A quick phone call to the CFC and it's now non-res. Making the barrel wrench wasn't a lot of fun, and it didn't turn out very well, but it was a nice Saturday project that gave me a reason to use the lathe for the first time in years. If I had to do it again I think I'd just send the CX4 to Bits of Pieces to have it fitted there. He also has a heavy profile barrel available, but indicated he wouldn't ship one out and would only install it himself.

Total cost for the carbine, barrel and pipe (to make the wrench with) including shipping and taxes ended up at $1575. Not cheap, but not restricted either. :)

Does anyone have the CX4 in stock. I am thinking about rolling the dice and getting one. Maybe the new Liberal overlords will grandfather me;)
