Question Regarding PAL?

Hi,

I started out with the FAC years ago and now have the PAL.

I'm a member of a gunclub, however I really haven't been active in a few years.

Can someone provide me information on what my PAL entitles me to?

On the back of my card I've got the following:

Possession:
Non-Restricted
Restricted
12(6) Handgun....(I know I've got this because of the grandfathering that occured)

Acquisition:
Non-Restricted
Restricted

Questions:

Can I acquire new 12(6) firearms?

If I can't acquire new 12(6) with my existing PAL, can it be upgraded?

12.6! Lucky bugger! You can purchase .25cal, .32cal firearms as well as firearms with a 4" barrel or shorter. You need a 12.4 for automatics but you can't take 'em to the range anyway. Nobody, other than a current 12.6 holder, can get a 12.6 lic.

anytime ive bought rifles, and sales people have seen my license they say the same "lucky" thing.

i haven't been in the market for a handgun for awhile but now i am.

but....if 12(6) is under "possession" and not "acquisition", does that mean i can only possess and not acquire?

i'm confused.

Good question. I'm sure some of the 12.6 and 12.4 lic owners here will chime in.
