Wondering what your experience is in finding an all matching Swedish M96.

...and I do mean ALL matching. Every part, the wood and even a matching numbered cleaning rod.

I know that some consider all matching to mean all the metal parts only, while some others say the wood needs to match to be all matching, but most dismiss the notion that a cleaning rod needs to match as well.

Rare or Wow, beyond rare?

If someone is wondering, I do have an ALL matching M96.

Finding unnumbered cleaning rods seems to be pretty common in my experience, mismatched hand guards are also not rare. They seem to have mostly stayed intact, with many arsenal replacement parts being stamped over or produced blank and numbered to the rifle at time of repair.

Hi
I have 4 Swedes and have looked at quite a few while searching for them. Mine have all matching numbers "except" for the cleaning rods. All of the rods do have numbers, but not matching the rifles they are in. I have been told that when the rifles went through the arsenal, the cleaning rod wasn't considered an essential part of the rifle and they were "just thrown in pile". I think it is quite probable that even while in service, several people would likely have been cleaning their rifles at the same time and rods may have even been mixed up then.
Long story short, I think all matching rifles, other than the cleaning rods, are fairly common. All matching rifles with matching cleaning rods are not.

I have been collecting for over 30 years and only seen one swede with all matching #'s including the cleaning rod.I say they are very rare!
