For my Accu-Comp I use 5.8 gr N320 under a 185 gr JSWC for MV = 960. COL is 1.2.
For the OP in particular, Bill Wilson recommends the N310, N320 powders. Thats what got me started. You definitely CAN use it in 45 ACP. As you mentioned being a new reloader, just take care, as you do, with fast powders in larger cases as doubles are possible and you don't want that !!
As an aside, I use N350 in 38 Super. This slower powder in higher volumes no doubt makes the compensator more functional and again,, its very clean !

Thanks, I just picked up Clays to make my .45 load. I'll stay with N320 for 9mm - just because I still have 2lbs left - and maybe go up .2gr or so, to see if it gets cleaner. If not - I'm back to Titegroup in 9mm, unless the chrono I just ordered proves me wrong.

I only suggested N340 because I've compared it with loads made with N320.
If one goes to the Vihta Vuori load data (you know, the company that actually manufactures the powder), they will see that N310, N320, N340 and N350 are all listed with various bullet types and weights.
N340 burns a bit slower, and has in general a larger variation between starting and maximum loads.
This is generally suggestive that this is the optimal burn rate for this particular cartridge in VV's line of powders.
Additionally, the weight of powder charges are on the higher end, with the propencity of any of the charges to fill the case compared to other powders. This attribute is widely regarded as assisting (but not always) in gaining optimal accuracy.
As always, your milage may vary.

But I DID start this thread and I DID ask for opinions, because most participants on this forum offer an opinion based on their experience, not on their internet browsing skills, as you have implied. And, while I may value your opinion about trying N310 in a .45, you could come across a little less... opinionated, eh?
Most of us get along here. You were offered a suggestion to try N340, and seem to have become offended by it.
Nobody forces you to try what beltfed had suggested, but at the same time, there is no reason for you to become rude. Unless, of course, this is your preferred conversational style - then, may I suggest starting a thread of your own?
