My great grand father picked this gun up new, and passed it on to my grandfather who used it for rabbits, and duck.
I have it now, and have really only used it for skeet, and shooting pumpkins after halloween.. It's a hammer less 16 gauge, one choke is full, and other is open I believe.

Now, is this a decent gun? And does it have any value at all?

Nathan Russell Davis, or N.R. Davis and Sons as they were named later, was an early American maker of breech loading shotguns. They produced a range of grades, so each individual gun would have to be evaluated on it's own merit.

The likelihood is that it doesn't have much value but, a high grade example in good condition could be highly sought after. The only way we can answer your question is if you post some pictures so the grade and condition can be determined.

Google is your friend. Google "N.R. Davis and Sons" and you'll have reading material to last for hours. There's even reprints of old Davis catalogues available form Cornell.
