I see alot of posting regarding getting an RPAL and the steps to follow to obtain a restricted. I am in the process of switching my PAL to RPAL (its already in CFC). I am a member of a range here in BC and wish to follow the steps but see nothing other than RPAL, PURCHASE, ATT(to get it home) and ATT (home to range/club with proof of range membership). I talked to two firearms trainers and a member at the club and they say the same! My question is can someone post the link to where it says I have to have a pistol training coarse from my local range?

Not sure if its the same for BC, in fact, it most likely isn't

But in Bantario, you need to complete the club level safety course which is mandated by the CFO. The club then submits your application on your behalf for the LTATT.

Thats why I need to find out, as I have some Black Powder pistols in mind to get and like to follow the steps. I have seen so many posts saying you need a club training course! No one here even the sports store knows about it in BC!

Maybe its not required? I don't think one is required in Alberta, might be the same kind of situation. I think Canuck44 is from BC, he does a lot of action shooting, he might know if you drop him a PM, his name is Bob

Thanks!! I have asked 6 instructors so far and have heard from 2 and they say the same thing. RPAL then buy and wait for paperwork prove member of range/club and have fun!
