i have a remington 870 with 7 shot extension and a 18" barrel. will i be able to put a 21" or 23" barrel on it without removing the 7 shot extension? i want to use it to hunt turkey in the spring and do not want to buy another shotgun. also if anybody has a 21" or 23" turkey barrel for sale please PM me, THANKS!!!

It is physically possible to have the extension installed with any length of barrel that you choose. However your provincial hunting regulations will limit you to 3 rounds total capacity for your shotgun if you are hunting with it. So you will need to either use a stock Remington mag cap and stock mag plug or cut a length of wooden dowel to limit your mag capacity to 2 rounds for hunting with your mag extension on.

Don't forget the stock spring also. You certainly don't need another shotgun, just reconfigure yours to whatever you need at the time. That's what's so great about the 870 platform.

If your mag extension is the same as mine you will need to remove it to pull the 18" barrel and install the longer one.
