An finalized update! Thanks to Potashminer’s help, I have now a functional sporter. The cocking piece was replaced with a commercial piece and tuned to have the safety working correctly. The firing pin was lapped to fit tight and snug in the piece. Then the worn and poorly modded extractor was replaced with a new one to have proper secure extraction. Both new pieces were left in the “white”. The fiberglass stock was refinished with epoxy to correct the contour and then just wrapped in camo vinyl (for fun). Topped with a low mag Leupold. Recoil pad added to adjust for my extra long arms.
