Questions about decoys

I'm starting to get set up for goose hunting this fall, and I've ordered a dozen and a half foam decoys (those rubbery foam collapsible decoys similar to the turkey decoys I used and that worked quite well). I ordered one of Fleabay to see what they were like, and the size, colour and quality seem OK. The top picture is the good one. I can't seem to remove the bottom one which shows a different decoy.

I'd need to know what you guys are using for decoys, how many you use, and where the best place to buy them is.

The reason I tried the foam ones is that you can roll them up and put a large number in a duffel bag.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

If you're looking for collapsible, the only full bodies I have found are from Bulk Decoy Club in the States.
10% off to us Canadians.
They have really cheap decoy bags as well.
They try to cater to us as much as they can, I believe family run business that are very helpful.

I use a dozen true full bodies, a dozen shells, a dozen mallards, and 2 mojos.
Works like a charm and drops birds.

The ones I got from fleabay are pretty lifelike, they collapse easily, cost about $10/ea. shipped, no tax. True full bodies aren't really an option, unless I find another spot to hunt, as I wouldn't be able to lug them to the shooting area. What are mojos?

If you cant haul fullbodies then i would suggest getting getting some silos. When i used to field hunt, anywhere from 20 to 150 depending on situation.

So much depends on the area you live in and numbers you typically see in the fields in your area. If you are seeing feeds of a few dozen to a few hundred birds then a few dozen decoys is going to get the job done. If you can't hunt where the birds want to be and are going to have to traffic them then ultra realism is going to be key. You will need to look and sound like the real deal most days to hunt traffic unless you are getting fresh flights daily or weekly of unpressured birds then at least you stand a chance of drawing birds. Where we live and hunt I don't need ultra realism as much as I need numbers but we still have to have decoys that look real enough to draw birds into range. A full body spread is out for me unless I want to buy an enclosed trailer so I run Realgeese PS2's. I have around 23 dozen in 6 bags. I can fit all of them in the back of my pickup along with my A-Frame blind and other essentials.
Early on our hunting is typically local geese(western giant canadas) before the big flights of lessers start arriving. We(friends I hunt with) typically run 8-20 dozen decoys at the start. Once the lessers show up it becomes a numbers game to get them into your spread and pooling our spreads becomes the norm. Our average spread set out is usually 20-25 dozen Canadas for lessers and if ducks and specks are feeding with them then its nothing to add another 5-15 dozen ducks and 6-8 lucky duck spinners. When I hunt alone I usually put out about 8 dozen mixed Canadas and Mallards. It's hard to make 8 dozen silos look like 8 dozen birds on a field as odd as that sounds. Fullbodies definitely add realism to that perspective. Don't even ask about snows, you may not like the second mortgage to get geared up for hunting them with any kind of consistent success.......
Your best bet for purchasing Realgeese for availability and pricing is usually these guys https://distributionpleinair.com/ or watch Kijiji or Facebook Marketplace just before or after season. I bought most of my Realgeese Canadas and all my ducks that way at 1/3 price of new and its not hard to find decoys that only saw a hunt or two before guys gave it up.

If your buying those decoys pictured above at 10$ ea , save your money and buy silhouette decoys , will be a better investment and a better spread if you ask me. 2 dozen should be plenty for a good hunt

Think we bought 5 dozen of silhouettes for $700 shipped? Few years ago now but they still hoping up well. We run about 2 dozen shells and another 4 dozen full bodies, dont run that big everytime though
