Can someone tell me what is the barrel twist rate of a BRNO/Israeli 7.62 ( .308 ) K98 ???
I want to reload this rifle to see how accurate it is.

Any advices regards reloading this rifle are welcome.

I believe all barrels chambered for 7.62x51 NATO were rifled with one turn in 12 inches so I expect your Israeli K98 will be the same. I always thought NATO got the math wrong when they adopted that rifling pitch. It should have been 1 turn in 10 inches just like the .303 British or the US .30-06. That's why the 7.62 bullets will penetrate more stuff at 300 metres than they will at 50 metres. At the shorter range, they are not spinning fast enough to be stable at the velocity they have at that point. By the time the bullets have flown 300 metres, they have lost a lot of velocity but have retained just about all of their spin. Military rifles and machine guns usually have rifling which is 1 turn in something between 30 and 35 calibres. The 7.62x51 barrels have one turn in 40 calibres.
I also think NATO still can't calculate very well. They put rifling of 1 turn in 7 inches in the new 5.56mm family of small arms when 1 turn in 8.5 inches would have been enough. I guess they were trying to make the twist quick enough to stabilize tracer bullets which are inherently unstable.

NICE-looking Toy, ben77lemay!

Standard twist for the 7.62NATO is 1 turn in 12 inches; this accommodates the 145-grain military slug very well and also can do some great shooting with 150s, 165s and even 180s. Heavier than that and you will have to do a lot of praying.

ORIGINAL twist for Mauser 98s in the original 7.92x57 is given in Table IV, Page 250 of the TEXT BOOK OF SMALL ARMS - 1909 as 1 turn in 9.39 inches (1 turn in 240mm). This was regarded as suitable for the whole range of bullets from the early 227-grain RN to the 154-grain JS; it was kept when the JsS was adopted also.

Hope this helps, either now or with a future purchase.

I have one, it absolutely loves 173 grain Nato. It also shoots very well with 168's. That one looks to be in great shape!! hang on to her, they are very accurate rifles, enjoy.

Hmmm, I dunno if the Boyds K98 stock have a hole for cleaning rod ???
No Bubba here, don't worry, just a stock swap and keep the original in the safe...

Hey man its your rifle. The Israeli stock is the superior design though with its front band cross pin and anchored short band spring. Prevents bands from moving and holds the barrel tight. Have you shot it yet? Mine holds 1" with M118 surplus.
