Hey guys/gals

Soooooo I've had my PAL for a couple years now and I am getting the itch to play with bigger and sweeter toys :D

Couple questions hoping you guys can answer.

1. If I get my RPAL tacked on to my NRPAL will I still have to go through all the BS of "I heard there is new loops sending papers back and forth now" With the CFC. Or now that I have a PAL they will not take so long "28 days, references etc etc"?

2. Thinking on challenging the exam. If I pass and what not and have my new license. Say I wanted to buy an AR. Would you have to call the CFC and get a #for an ATT and only use it at a gun club like a pistol? or is this just for pistols?

Think that is all I can think of at the moment.
Thanks in advance ;)

As far as "sending papers back and forth", when you pass the rpal exam, the instructor will send the results off to the Ontario CFO to be stamped. The CFO then sends them back to you, and you send them to the CFC.

I had mine back from the CFO in about 9 days, so it wasn't too bad.

When the CFC called to ask their questions of me, they asked why I wanted a handgun, not why I wanted a restricted.

Chances are I wont buy a handgun "to much hassel" I want an AR real bad. :D

Do I have to go through all the bullsh*t of getting an ATT, gun club etc etc for an AR? or does that only apply to hand guns?

And thanks for the info on the paper work ;)

well i think you can apply for a collectors status and then buy your ar 15 without joining a club but if you wanna shoot it then thats another story.

As much as I would LOVE to have an AR. I dont think going through all the hassels of wanting to take it out of my home to go do some shooting every time I want to is worth it. Seeing that I do most of my plinking on weekends.

I honestly thought that ATT's we're only for hand guns. Goes to show what I know about restricted laws lol.

That truely does suck :(
PS
I have no gun club around me

That is the attitude the government is hoping you and others take. Don't let them win.
