Questions about Slugs and Barrel chokes - Mossberg 500

So my buddy has a Mossberg 500 with full choke 30 in barrel newer model with raised sight picture. Smooth bore full choke. He was given some rifled slugs with the gun. What slugs are good to go for non rifled barrels,vs versa? I want to get the answers.

Factory made lead slug ammunition is made to fire through any choke designation safely. Different makes may shoot better than other makes. You have to shoot and see what is best.

rifled slugs are made of soft lead and can be shot thru any choke safely .you may get better groups with a more open choke in some guns you just have to try a few brands to see what your gun and choke likes .A good place to start is with the challenger slugs as well as the Remington sluggers .2.75 inch slugs as all you ever need all you gain from a three inch slug is a sore shoulder more kick .Dutch
