I have a Norinco P228 and like it but it just isn't a real SIG. Can you actually buy a real Sig P228 in Canada? I understand there were some that were all SIG except Norinco barrels because Sig doesn't make 4.1" barrels.

Also, are the grips on a Sig P226 the same as on a P228? I like my P228's grips, but they fit just barely. If they were any fatter, I couldn't use them. I'd buy a P226, but if it is for "fatter" hands than the 228, I don't think I could hold it.

I don't know for sure but I think Sig Stop making the p228 and just use the p229 as its replacement.
Correct.

I think the P228's grips are roughly about the same width as a P226. And yes there are some Sig P228's in canada, but I believe they are all prohibs.

So both P228 and P229 are not an option then? I may consider the P226. The P228 fits fine in my hands, in fact, I find the grip is a bit too short. If the P226 is the same grip width but longer, it may in fact be perfect.

If you can get a 229 with an extended barrel up here then it would be restricted, the barrel is 3.9" inches therefore evil.

Going by the grip issue I suspect that the 220 is what you are looking for, narrower but longer.
