Hello everyone! Just got home after purchasing this USGI wood stock for an M14. There is a few minor dings in it but the only problem is I don't know much about them. Are these rare at all? I had trouble finding info on google in Canada. What kind of wood is it? What would they usually be worth? if anyone could follow the links I have posted and give me some answers I would appreciate it!

You have a perfectly ordinary USGI walnut stock. The P is an arsenal mark, and if I see it correctly, there is a Springfield Armory acceptance eagle stamp on the left side. The other little block is the stripper guide. There is a cranky American named Fred who runs an M14 stocks and parts website. He was big in the Johnny Appleseed shooting program, so his site might not have had many updates. Goofle Freds M14 stocks.

Actual the "P" is not an "arsenal mark" but the finial proof mark. After the rifle is assembled, visually inspected, proof fired and function tested a "P" is stamped on the stock to indicate that it has pasted all QA requirements. The eagle stamp is not a Springfield Armory acceptance mark but a DOD (Department of Defense) acceptance mark. It is applied when the Government agent officially accepts the items at the manufacturer's facillity.
