Questions for Sterling fans

I always been a fan of the sten and sterling SMG. Unfortunately i cannot own one (too young to be granfathered). But i still have an interest. I was looking at picture i've seen something that got me wondering. On the Sterling SMG, what are the four marking on the right side of the pistol grip? By looking at others pictures i can see the letters EE, and CK, i cannot figure what are the others. It look like it is a selector of some sort. What is the function? What is it? Just curious

Geeez that brings back good memories of house clearing techniques.

The item in question (no quote on that yet) is a slotted screw to undo the plastic grip for cleaning, one quarter turn either way would release them.

Selector swith is on the left side just above and slightly behind the trigger. Boy is my memory foggy, last time we got to use one of those was in 86, after that they where replaced by C8....

It says "lock" and "free". A quater turn of the bolt releases or secures the trigger pack. Also, you can own a sterling, if you got the $$$.
