Questions ipsc/black badge

They last quite a long time if you don't stomp on them on your way to the next array. Going skateboard on one on a smooth concrete floor can be spectacular too. Sort of roll the pistol so the magwell points left or right lets you dump the mag in the direction you're not about to last time we
Last time we were out he was demonstrating how John Wick changes mags… sounds something like this.

I’m sure these things have been asked by many but I was hoping for a quick reply. I’m going to sign my 16 year old up for black badge this march. The guy putting on the course said no serpa holsters. I have a walther serpa holster that came with my gun. If I remove the lock tab by cutting it off and reassembling it, will that satisfy the requirements for the course and competition?

Second question. How many magazine carriers do I need? And where is a good shop to get some of this stuff? I have 3 mags and a double carrier so I think I’ll have to order at least two more mags and another two carriers?
It may be about the quality, or lack thereof, of the Serpa holster.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have one more question.

How often do you guys damage magazines? I found some and they seem hard to come by so I was going tk order two for a total of five, but I’m thinking I should get an extra one or two if they’re going to be dropped in the dirt and gravel
All the time.
When I was actively competing in club IPSC matches, I found 8 mags for my CZ Shadow worked well. At the start of the match, all 8 were loaded, 6 went on my belt and one in a back pocket. (More on that later.) One to go into the gun when the stage began. Some of the sadistic stage creators love lots of small steel targets, so 6 mags per steel stage could be necessary.
It's nice to have a couple of loaded mags ready if the stages get shot quickly and reload time is short. Sometimes there is a mix-up after a stage is shot and you don't get all your mags back right away.
I had a Grand Power 9mm with 5 mags and that was fine until one went missing. It wasn't until I had a flat tire that I found the last mag in the trunk of my car under the spare. It had some rust on it and needed some work.
One time, I had my last mag in a back pocket with a handkerchief (allergy season) and I really needed it. Hanky got caught up in the mag in the pocket and that ate up 35 seconds. Fail. So, more mags is better!
