Questions re value of obermeyer barrel

No question who made this barrel, internet says Obermeyer is a highly regarded barrel maker. It's SS, 6 groove, 7/8" diameter, 20" long, HS Precision stock and is mated to a 40XB. Figure maybe $1500 or maybe more because of the maker. Comments appreciated.

Did Obermeyer make the barrel? Who installed the barrel on the 40X? I can't see Boots Obermeyer stamping his name with one letter hit sideways and restamped.
Bore condition? A shot out Obermeyer barrel has about as much value as a shot out factory barrel.
A rebarrelled 40X put together in a HS stock might bring $1500, but it would have to be a really fine shooter.
 
might not be obermeyer barrel, but chambered in .308 obermeyer!? I do believe you can get a reamer for .308 obermeyer! its more of a match style chamber.
 
Tx for the quick responses. I believe it is a 308 Obermeyer and not an Obermeyer barrel. What I started with was a camo-painted gun and was told it was a Ted Gaillard barrel and most likely put together by him but this is not confirmed (no other markings, did Ted Gaillard put markings on his barrels?). When I removed the paint I saw the word Obermeyer and thought it was his not being familiar with all the possible 308 variants. I hope to try it out tomorrow and am keeping my fingers crossed.
