So I am using Starlight brass, and I'm getting into my first full length sizing with them. ( once fired now ) I have Lee 38/357 dies. Do I need to back the full length die out to compensate for the 357 (longer) case like with the other dies?

Awesome thanks, Lee mentions backing out the other two dies, so I assumed that you did not have to back out the FL die. Did not want to mess up my good brass somehow.

No adjustments are needed for the resizer die; just set it so it touches the shellholder at the top of the press stroke.
The seater needs to be adjusted higher when loading .357 Mag to compensate for the longer case.

Yep I have made great loads already, just never used the full length sized yet.

what press are you using with the LEE dies? the adjustment is slightly different between 3rd party press and lee press. for lee press, just go to youtube, lee has the official videos. for other press, just touching the shell plate. I use lee dies almost exclusively(except rifle rcbs small base dies) on dillon 550b. over 10K rounds without any issues, including about 2000 round 357mag

I too am using starline (assume the starlight is a typo) brass. Only size the top of the brass, to where bullet seats plus 8mm.
Can't remember where I read it but there is no benefit of sizing the entire length. Do the same for 44Mag, 50S&W brass.

then just touch the shell plate is good enough. I use both range brass and starline brass. never had any issue with the LEE dies on my dillon 550B. They produce dead accurate ammo @ 25 meters.

I am using an RCBS Rockchucker, and yes a typo on the starlight.
