Quick access rack for bicycle carry

Blessed if I can find the thread now but I'm pretty sure someone on this site was asking about means of carrying a long arm on a bike for hunting purposes. Came across this just now, someone has whomped together a pretty good system whose only fault might be that the gun gets bounced out because it's a darn bicycle (he has an elastic strap across the barrel but I'm not so sure that would do it, not around here anyway, not all the time.

There's some clutter in the photo, looks like another bike, I can only ask why.

Other than the handlebars your options are to mount along the down tube (a bit of the rifle would could be protruding in front of the handlebars), or the top tube (might not leave enough room for your legs, certainly not on many e-bikes.

Other options is to mount if between the pedals and the seat-stays, so it would be a bit like a flag pointing out the back.

Or you could do what a lot of people do, and attach a trailer to your bike. Mounting in a trailer is often pretty easy, and gives you room to haul around a lot of other things, too.

When I lived in Germany I rode my motorcycle to hockey games, wearing most of my gear. My sticks would be strapped to the side of the motorcycle "top tube" in bicycle lingo. It worked pretty well, but on a motorcycle you don't have to pedal.
