We felt lazy today. It was going to be warm so we decided to head to a "lake" that is about 6 miles long and 200 yds wide. We took 12 decoys and 2 goose floaters. We left the house just at daybreak and got there after legal light (6:56) ignored all the birds flying until we got the dekes out (you have to go through the motions at least). We were back at the truck and packed up and leaving by 8:30. The wind was howling and that forced the birds low. Other than a double I made on a pair of mallards, all the shots were at single birds. We passed on a literally 100+ shots on birds that came within range but weren't going to fall in our preferred zone.
My hunting partner has the camera skills of a retarded epileptic baboon so the pics sucked. But in this blurry image we either have a couple of Chupacapras or Jet and Poacher with the day's bag of 8 bluewings, 5 mallards, 1 greenwing, 1 gadwall and a King Can.
The highlight of the day was the Canvasback that Poacher was able to retrieve despite it being only winged and diving. Not in FULL plumage but not bad for up here and this time of year. A better pic.
