Sorry I forgot to specify: It's for a 20'' barrel (rifle size) so forget the Kac Ras 2.

For now, the only option I have seems to be Troy's 12" MRF-R.

Any other choices?

I have the CX-EBR on my 14.5", and it is the cat's ass. Rock solid, no movement, and improves accuracy by quite a margin.

Check out Wolverine Supplies, they carry all of the Midwest Industries free float hand guards, and the MWI hand guards are all 2-piece, so installation over a fixed front sight is no problem.

Although you do not have to remove the front sight/gas block, you do have to remove the Delta ring, spring and clip from the rear of the barrel which means you have to remove the barrel from the upper!!

or you could cut the delta ring off and call it a day. Dremel.

Get out the dremel, hacksaw and angle grinder. It only hurts until you make the first cut.
