Hi guys!
Got off work today and had an idea for a new survival, small game, medium game, self defense- rifle ( aka the lets cover alot of stuff modular rifle).
wow that was a load off.
Now first off I thought, well what calibre. Now I don't know what im talking about at all when talking about balistics, I guess I would want a round thats fast, flat for a quite a bit of a distance, heavy ish, but not to heavy. Constent but strong, but packable and light enough to carry a whole bunch.
Now I'm thinking I would want maybe a 9mm or 45 cal as the base calibre, or something like that.
But I would definitely want the rifle to be modular, simple, strong. I would like there to be interchangeable barrels and bolts for calibre conversion. There would be a "longer range" bull barrel and then a 18.5 barrel to be non-restricted and a more close range barrel, and maybe even eventually a smaller barrel for restricted class.
---> edit: sorry, maybe even 50AE, and a long bullet?..the .30 carbine or 10 mm??...sorry I have to look up all these, im looking at some example trajectories and dimensions..
Now I'm going to list some links where you can get an idea of the looks I want from the rifle.
looks and simplicity in mechanics, or stock style, color, main materials used.

i like this because of the linear design, (the new design would have only 5 round mags or 10 rounds if i figure out the law on pistol round rifles.
but the new design would have modular attachments for a folding stock, ar-15 stocks, wooden stocks or non folding T bar style stocks. Oh and of course it will be semi auto only...and maybe even...)

(Now this rifle, made me think wow, if we could make this new design have
such a modularness to it that you could change an upper assembly
so that the rifle would have a new action, a bolt action!... now of course we would also switch barrels to a heavier one)
3. http://autoweapons.com/photos05/sep/1046hkn.html
(Here I like basically the folding stock, and the grip, but it looks like the trigger is alot lower in relation to the ejection part, that it makes the rifle look maybe to high or tall)

5. http://www.robarm.com/xcrtm_gallery.htm
(now think number 4 [minus the silly and illegal can], mixed with the all mighty number 5... number 5 just seals the whole modularness i'm looking for. But I dont know enough mechanics yet to know if we need that bigger gas system part)
Well, I'm sorry if this made no sense at all, but if anyone has any imput or ridicule, please do not hesitate, I know I will learn just buy reading some comments.
Thanks!
Have a nice weekend.
Sincerely,
Kevin_h
