Hey folks,

I was just wondering if I could ask a favour of someone with Quick Load to conjour up some data for me please?

I'm developing two loads, here are the stats:

.270 Winchester
24 inch barrel

Nosler Brass - new
CCI 200 primer

Reloder 26 Powder

140 grain Barnes TSX BT

150 grain Nosler LRAB

Many thanks in advance!

For Quickload you need the case capacity of a fired case from your rifles, and this is in the Quickload instructions.

Quickload defaults to the lowest case capacity and this effects the chamber pressure and velocity.

To get better data you need a chronograph and adjust the burn rate in Quickload until the velocities match the chronograph.

Example below, for the .223 Quickload defaults to 28.0 grains of case capacity like the old Lapua listed at the bottom of the chart below. At the top of the chart is a Lake City case at 30.6 case capacity and with the same charge of 25.0 grains of H335 there would be 6,000 psi difference between the two cases.

Bottom line, Quickload needs to be adjusted and tweaked for each firearm and the reloading components used. And the first thing you need is your case capacity from a fired case.

Without the case capacity and a chronograph a reloading manual is more accurate than computer generated guesstimates, and I have Quickload.
