They tried bringing the Tantal in, thinking it would pass muster as a non-AK. Teased many of us for years, but in the end it fell through... Personally, I'd rather they try and fail, than not try at all!

As someone who wanted the Steyr AUG as my first rifle, but was devastated to find that it is prohibited , I like this! Hopefully they can get this sorted out. I'd buy this.

A company called cdn gunworx was/ is trying to bring them in. A little while back they were raving on their facebook page how these were going be NR because some "RCMP lab people" told them off the cuff at a "dealer range day" of sorts, that they are going to be NR. Personally I have my doubts but you never know.

I think they were putting the cart before the horse on this one though. When you advertise a product as "coming soon and will be NR and we will be the official dealer" and then customers have to wait years, you really loose credibility.

Well whatever it was, they were bragging about selling these soon and calling them NR. Definitely putting the cart before the horse.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I remember it being advertised as a non restricted AK only, and left us guessing. I recall the tantal being the guess of the crowd, and us not being corrected. Finally being told it was a straight pull bolt action based on one of the older swiss actions I believe.

There were tons of "promises" about that rifle - they were all bullsh*t, even the straight pull ones. Again, not getting excited about anything from these guys until I'm holding the gun in one hand, and my cash/CC in the other.

This is correct it was a straight pull bult action dressed as an AK, that was hugely overhyped while negligently leaving out the straight pull bolt part for like 2 years.

When the straight pull bolt info made its way onto CGN, the pitchforks came out as people were pissed off about the hype train for something that was further from an AK than the T-81, VZ58, or krinker 10/22. Lol

They left CGN shortly after.

Oh how badly I want this to be approved. I don't even care if it's restricted only, I just want my AUG variant.
