Quick Question: Glock barrel play when slide locked?

I just picked up a new glock 17 and noticed that with the slide locked open, the barrel has some play....is this normal? As in, i can grab the barrel and move it back and forth a bit.

Normal. There should be no play when the slide is closed. The QC on the G's are normally very good.

Very few semi-autos exhibit no play in the barrel when the slide is locked open. As stated... it's when the slide is locked-closed that you don't want to have any noticeable "play" in the barrel.

Perfectly normal. The only semi-autos that have no barrel play when the slide is locked back are the ones with fixed barrels.
