Who can tell me if I am legally able to chop and old 12ga 28" barrel down to 12" ?

A link or copy and pasta of said law (affirming I can or cant) please.

You've been on this site for how long? and have how many posts? This has been covered ad nauseum ever since I joined up. 18.5 for semi's, 18 for everything else. Even a gunsmith can't do it. You can however purchase a 12" that has been manufactured from scratch, but they have to have a manufacturers licence.

Well, there's that whole Criminal Code and Firearms Act thing...

EDIT:
“prohibited firearm” means

(b) a firearm that is adapted from a rifle or shotgun, whether by sawing, cutting or any other alteration, and that, as so adapted,
(i) is less than 660mm in length, or
(ii) is 660 mm or greater in length and has a barrel less than 457 mm in length,

That is what ive been looking for thank you.

to dog, I would hardly consider time and post count a measure to firearm law knowledge. I rarely stumble into anything other then precision, red and general. Im a hands on guy but have never tried to do "major" alterations or mods to firearms. Just asking for some quick help.
