Quick release scope mount for vz58

I have a VZ58 with a rear dust cover rail, mounting a PA 1-6 ACSS scope. Then my VZ will be complete.

I decided to go with this system instead of the side mount because it ends up being lighter and doesn't obstruct the left charging handle.

Last part I need is the mount. What would be a good quick release mount? A solid mount that returns to 0 after remounting and won't cost a fortune.

Looking for something like this. The catch is that it needs to have the front arm high enough to provide clearance for ejecting spent brass otherwise it bounces back into the action and causes a jam. Thanks.

But the point being IF you install the shell deflector then the quick detach mounts clearance wont be an issue. I cant offer any suggestions on AR optic mounts because Ive never owned an AR with a optic on it....

Strelok - for a second I thought that puppy closed onto the VZ 58 side rail and got super excited. Now, I am level. Looks like it is for a rear mount .... Corwin arms?

I have the Vortex quick release on my AR. Good mount, returns to zero just fine.

I have a strong suspicion that on a vz58, the arm of the mount will do a decent job of protecting the scope from ejecting brass. You can get an idea of how much overhang it has from the pic below.

Nice AR! I think you're right the mount will deflect the spent brass just fine. If not I'll make a deflector.

Ordered a Burris PEPR mount hopefully it'll do the trick.

This is what I used on my vz with the railed dust cover. Made shell deflector from an sks one. The QD rail is the NEA one.

This is what I got going on now. Save you nickels and get the primary arms 7.62 x39 4x scope.

That looks great! I like the handguard on your VZ is it a Magpul Zhukov?

That's what I had in mind for a QD mount with a deflector. Did it give you any problems with brass bouncing back into the action?

Thanks. More than a little thought and effort went into that "build" (off the shelf parts, but I spent a lot of time thinking about how I wanted it set up).

Now that I have my vz58 set up the way I want, I really need to do a photo or two of it. With my VZ (CZ-858), I went with a forward mounted red dot for a sight, and it worked out well. More of a close-in snap-shooter gun than my AR setup.

No issues at all worked perfectly. Yes it's the zhukov handguard

Did you have to modify the handguard to fit it on the vz? I'm thinking about getting one for mine but I also like the way it is now. Here's a pic of it almost done I just need the dust cover rail now.

Right on. Post some pics of both here.
