Hey folks,

Just a quick look at my newest firearm;

I picked up this gem from Prophet River about a month ago and finally had a chance to get to the range.

I fell in love with the egros as soon as i picked it up. Fits like a glove and points naturally. Absolutely no issues in that department.

Had a few boxes of pmc to lob down range today, and was more than impressed by the accuracy i was able to achieve. Keep in mind, no marksmen.

Ended up sending 100 rounds down the pipe with no issues. Recoil was a little snappy, but very manageable. I found the polymer a little slick so next time i will have gloves with me.

Here are the results at about 25 yards

Big thanks to Prophet River for such a fine handgun, and to Canadaammo for a great deal on its food!

Looking good. Why 40SW? Seeing as we only drill holes in targets I thought why not do it with the cheap 9mm ammo. I notice the barrel does not tilt down for chambering next round or is it the way I am looking at the Photo? Does it rotate like the PX4 of my wife's?

That looks pretty solid at 25 yards....I'm guessing 'off hand'.....and personally I shoot way more .40... Hand loading brings it down to 9mm costs...

Hey guys,

Yea that was off hand, but i was leaning forward against the shooting bench for some stability.

I went 40 because...well...why not? I have a 22 and a 45. Im was looking to fill the calibers in between and this deal came up first. It was really an impulse buy hah.

As for the function, i think its similar to the hi-power cam lock setup. The barrel does seem to tilt down at the camber, but maybe the longer barrel and angle of the photo is eliminating it visually. Honestly, i didnt pay that much attention to its operation other than tearing it down to clean and lube. Others may be able to clarify.

Nice shooting. I have a Gen 1 P99 in 40 that I really like. No Pinocchio barrel and basically and unpinned mag (factory mags only held 11-12).

Yes they make a nice package.

My P99 is the same as this except black. I may pick up a PPQ at some point if the price is right.

awesome pistol. I really like the fde slide. I had the same pistol in black. my first 2 shots were through the same hole! The issue I had was the takedown slide-button jutting out would rub my support hand and while shooting .40 it would rub super fast - enough to be a discomfort. It was weird trying to alter my grip. That wasn't the reason why I sold it though - I had to fund my AR project
