So, my certificate came in the mail today and I checked the S/N: Mine has a "US" in front of 6 digits; this surprised me as I was sure there were no letters.

When I looked at the rifle sure enough there are 6 numbers stamped into steel, then the letters 'US' in the plastic after Geneso, Il. (I am thinking United States, not part of the Serial Number).

So my question is this...

Are you guys's AR180B's registered with 6 digit S/N's or 8 digit S/N's.

Thanks.

OMG, run, quick - hide it away...that's an illegal gun you've got there, the serial numbers on the reg cert don't match what you actually have so there must be some mistake with the gun you have.

I don't know how that could happen other then some nefarious person swapping the rifle you bought after the reg info was sent to the infallible CFC - yours was probably used to kill babies and puppies and maybe even used to help foment a third-world revolution or two.

reminds me of the time, all of two weeks ago, when I bought a marlin .22 that had been registered with an extra '0' at the front of the serial number, a '0' nowhere to be found on the gun itself.

I wonder who's going around switching all these guns? That'll be really confusing for the CFC, eh?
