Someone tell me what the general value is for a 1940 Lee Enfield .303 No 1 MK III in military configuration! I've got about 24hrs at best to make an offer!
Those were the only 3 plants tooled up for the SMLE that year.
You should start doing some research on these things; there is more to them than just $$$. Head over to milsurps dot com, take out a membership, download a copy of THE LEE-ENFIELD RIFLE by Major E.G.B. Reynolds, then read it carefully. Milsurps dot com is the ONLY place you can download a LEGAL copy of this rare book. It is a very good INTRODUCTION to Lee-Enfilds. If you require DETAIL, pick up some of the excellent reference works by Ian Skennerton.
A couple months ago I paid $450 for a matching '42 Lithgow, which was FTR's in '54. It has the usual bumps and dings, but has a mirror bore. Hope that helps give you a $ benchmark. But like smellie said, it really depends on the particular rifle you are looking at. Maker, condition, correctness all affect the price.
