What is THE fastest, easiest system available for pulling bullets...I'm talking about a few hundred 9mm's.
I suspect that I may have a double charge in a few, so won't shoot any of them.
I realized when I was almost finished loading with my new progressive (moved up from a Turret) that I was doing something while loading that may (or may not...) have dropped a double charge into a case or two. :( I watch VERY carefully for double charges and spotted one right away after loading about 400 rounds...but one may have got by me.
I don't relish the notion of sitting down with my RCBS hammer for a few hours.

How about weighing your loaded rounds to find the ones that are signifcantly heavier than the rest?

Actually, I just did that. :) There is a wider variation in the weights of all the weighed ammo than I anticipated due to the mix of brass brands, but most weighed in between 210.0 gr and 211.3 grains. I took apart the dozen or so of the heaviest cartridges, and all had exactly 3.3gr of Titegroup, which was correct....so logic should dictate that I'm ok and didn't double-charge any of the rounds.
It'll be a bit of a leap of faith to shoot them, but I'm 99.9% happier than I was a few hours ago.
If you see me advertising Baby Eagle "parts" on the EE forum in a week or two, you'll know why.

Collet sounds like your best bet.

I've done a hundred with my hammer before, not fun.
I've used both the RCBS & Hornady collet pullers. The Hornady system is better & faster.

The inertia/hammer/thingy stinks :!:

I have the RCBS collet systen, and it's slow.
That's the good thing about the Hornady collet job. Once you get it set up, you set the cartridge into the press, push the bullet into the collet, pull the lever to tighten the collet and pull out the bullet with the press. Way faster than RCBS :!:

I also use a collet puller (RCBS) for casual pulliing like when I'm working up loads, but when I find bullets slipping past the collet I go to the tool box and get a set of wire strippers. You know the kind with the stripping holes in the handles...I think mine are MAC. Using this part of the strippers let those "teeth" sink into the jacket material just ahead of the case mouth, the flat handles of the strippers lie on top of the press, then pull down the ram and out comes the bullet. This is the only system I've found that is not frustrating when I am pulling bullets from military ammo.

When I make "Mexican Match I may pull several hundred or even 1000 bullets at a time. The wire strippers are quick and positive even when the bullets are sealed with water proofing goo. This may not be the best system when pulling expensive game or match bullets because it does leave little imperfections in the bullet, but when the pulling gets tough it is the way to go.

I used to have one of those little round slotted disk style pullers, but it was very difficult to get the bullet out of the puller, and it also left marks on the bullet. Just didn't want you to think I didn't know about them. If you ever want a good work out try pulling 50 heavily crimped 110 gr .38 or .357 bullets with a kinetic puller, after 10 you'll probably just throw the rest away. :D

"...I can use the old Quinetics hammer type faster..." Ditto, but what you smack it on matters. A rock works extremely well. No carpets or wood. Too soft.

Ok...I've been staring at 4 MTM boxes full of freshly-loaded .40cal ammo (180gr FMJ bullet over 5.7gr of WSF) that may or may not have at least one double charge lurking amongst them for about a week now, and figure that I should either poop or get off the pot. Anyhow...here's what I decided to do before pulling all 400 bullets.
I weighed all 100 cartridges in one of the boxes. I found the heaviest one (258gr) and took it apart...it had exactly 5.7 gr of WSF in it, which is what it should have.
Is my logic sound that the other 99 (lighter) cartridges are therefore ok and do not contain a double charge?

I pulled a hundred + rounds of .44 Mag with a kinetic hammer  .
Not fun :( . I think I could built a house with less hammering :p .
The hammer's nice for one or two rounds, but I'm definately looking at getting a collet puller, just in case  .

Hornady collet puller is the way to go - no better way out. I would suggest to get a lock-out die for future reloading - the die(to be installed before bullet seating and after powder dropping) when detect double charge and no charge situation will locks up the upward travel of the press ram. So you will know something go wrong.
