Could someone with Quickload give me velocity etc on this load. It is scary accurate but I have no ballpark on velocity.

.204 ruger
35gr Berger HP
23gr H4198
CCI BR primer
24" barrel
Temperature 3 degrees Celsius
1 in 12 twist, Kimber

I had played around with Varget, got nice groups around 1/2". But H4198 really shrunk the groups, it was an eye opener.

Quickload gives software guesstimates and the only way to get semi accurate information is using a chronograph. Once you get your velocity readings with a chronograph you change the burn rate in Quickload until the velocities match.

This is not the only "tuning" that needs to be done to Quickload to get accurate information. Bottom line I "had" Quickload and I gave it to a good friend that has a chronograph and even he says it just gives "ball park" information.

If you want to know your velocities then buy a chronograph and not a software program that spits out computer generated guesstimates.

QL predicts ~3700 fps with the default settings. That is ballpark velocity but I do get close values to my chronograph results when I also input the total case capacity in grains H2O.

YMMV.
